Round 2 of the Rye House IKR Championship took place on the 17th April 2022.
Qualifying
The video below shoes my qualifying lap. Setting a time of 41.654 on lap 6. This was good enough to qualify me in 15th place, and a post qualifying disqualification promoted me to 14th.
Heat 1
Heat 1 started off well, making up 3 places in the first lap. By lap 6, I managed to make up another place and brought it home in P10. A drop down bumper in front saw me gain another position with a finishing position of 9th.
Heat 2
Heat 2 saw me line up in 11th on the grid. Unfortunately a start line incident saw me drop down to 18th. From here I got my head down, and managed to make up a couple of places, bringing it home in 16th. A disqualification in scrutineering saw me promoted to 15th after the flag.
Finals
For the finals, I once again lined up in 11th on the grid. Although this was a fairly uneventful final for me, I did drop a couple of places, coming home 14th.
I was a little unlucky at times, some good driving though to make up for it. Spent most of the day doing 41 second laps, nearly in the 40s. Some good battles with some regulars from testing and Cadet Club. Awesome seeing everyone and a whole load of support being shown by all.
It’s a shame that the improvements aren’t reflected in results but with the whole pack improving I am sure the results will come soon enough.
